360i Announces Forthcoming Voice Playbook for Marketers

April 12, 2018

In a new piece for Ad Age, 360i’s Senior Technical Director, Tony Landa writes, “The current Voice ecosystem in which artificial intelligence funnels context and deciphers data into voice agents like Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa is ripe for brand entrée. For now the consumers are forgiving and the knowledge pool is all but empty, but soon they won’t be.”

With this emerging reality in mind, 360i is announcing the official release date for our forthcoming Voice Playbook, a manual for marketers designed to help them navigate and capitalize on the changing Voice landscape. 360i’s Voice Playbook will be available to the public starting May 7, 2018. As a marketing channel, Voice touches everything from Search and Production to eCommerce and Data Science. 360i’s Voice Playbook will examine topics like internal staffing, ecosystem mapping, discoverability, consumer expectations, tone of voice and much more. The playbook aims to educate and inform today’s marketers while equipping them with tangible next steps and learnings from the agency’s deep experience and research in the Voice landscape. Last summer, 360i released data from its Voice Search Monitor (VSM), a software that reverse engineers the algorithms behind key marketplace voice technologies like Google Home, Amazon Alexa, Apple Siri and Microsoft Cortana to help brands understand how voice agents communicate back to consumers. Since then we’ve also released numerous game-changing skills, including Bravo Tango Brain Training, the first-ever voice-powered meditation app for veterans and The Jameson Bar, an Irish-toast generating and cocktail-recipe-recommending voice app, complete with snarky Irish quips.

Tony’s chapter on artificial intelligence is the first excerpt from the Playbook and explores the role that AI will play in training smart agents like Amazon’s Alexa and Google’s Assistant to think for themselves. You can check it out in Ad Age for a preview of what’s to come in the Playbook.
