To kickoff Hunger Action Month, 360i teamed up with Feeding America and The Ad Council to launch a multi-platform activation and raise awareness for the one in six Americans struggling with hunger.
As part of the campaign, Feeding America is challenging people across the country to snap a selfie with an orange spoon on their nose (a spoon selfie), to generate stopping power on social feeds across the country and educate people on the hunger issue in America.
Today – Hunger Action Day – we’re projecting fan selfies tagged with the hashtag #SpoontemberTSQ on a Billboard in Times Square, introducing a custom Snapchat filter that will overlay a digital spoon on selfies taken in the Times Square area, and sharing celeb selfies including ones taken by Rachel Ray, Mario Batali, Lance Bass, Savannah Guthrie and more on Feeding America’s social channels.
Activations at local food banks are also featuring photo booths to help local participants take selfies on-site, and through a packaging partnership with silverware line Cheeky, orange spoons can be found at Target stores nationwide.
Show your support for Feeding America and raise awareness for hunger by taking a spoon selfie and sharing it on social with the hashtag #Spoontember. You can learn more about the launch in Fast Company and more about Feeding America by visiting FeedingAmerica.org.
