Tesco Gives a #BigThankYou via YouTube
The holiday season is a time for being thankful, especially when it comes to showing appreciation for loved ones for even simple things like cooking dinner. This year, supermarket giant Tesco gave people the opportunity to give a #BigThankYou to family and friends through a new campaign. Fans can choose to share a variety of playful YouTube videos featuring songs to help them say thanks during the holiday season.
Smart Car Capitalizes on the Year of Selfies with ‘Who Wore It Better?’
2013 was the year of the selfie, and as such, Smart Car launched its “Who Wore It Better?” Twitter campaign prompting fans to submit selfies of themselves in return for the chance to win a new MotoX smartphone. @SmartUSA responded to participants by tweeting photos of a tailored car meant to match their submitted picture, as inspired by the hashtag #SmartWrapMe.

MasterCard Shares “Priceless Moments” with #PricelessNewYear
To ring in the New Year, MasterCard launched its #PricelessNewYear campaign, inviting consumers to share their most memorable holiday moments via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The company curated their favorites via MasterCard.com and social media accounts, and featured them on Times Square digital billboards from 6 a.m. New Year’s Eve until the ball dropped at midnight. To encourage participation, Mastercard aired a 30-second television spot across multiple networks and inside 7,000 New York City taxi cabs, prompting viewers to share their own special holiday moments using the hashtag #PricelessNewYear. While this was the largest integrated digital and social media campaign to date for the company, their strategy has been evolving to include social media initiatives and the development of a brand newsroom.
Flipagram and Statigram Help Users Capture the Year in Photos
While some brands and users chose to ring in the New Year via an Instagram picture or quote, Flipstagram took it one step further and gave users an opportunity to share and display their whole past year on the platform via a picture slideshow with music. Once the slideshow is created, the app allows users to upload the finished product to their social media sites to share with friends and followers. Instagram management app Statigram is providing a similar service, allowing users to display their most engaging photos of the year through a sharable Instagram photo montage.
