This week Canon U.S.A. (client) is releasing its feature-length documentary Bending the Light on Vimeo video-on-demand.
The film directed by veteran filmmaker Michael Apted – director of the Up series, Gorillas in the Mist, and The World is Not Enough – is a celebration of the craft of visual imaging, and explores the relationship between the artisans who create camera lenses and the professionals who use the lenses for their art.
The documentary was created to share authentic stories of Canon lenses with photographers and filmmakers, to help them better understand and appreciate the complex, technical world of Canon Optics lenses. The new release features never-before-seen footage from inside Canon’s lens factory in Utsunomiya, Japan. Intimate interviews with lens engineers, and a peek into the world of award-winning photographers and cinematographers, help bring the Canon story to life.
Bending the Light first debuted as an original selection at the Traverse City Film Festival, and has since captivated audiences at major film festivals around the world.
The full length documentary is now available globally in streaming 4K and HD on Vimeo.
