SoFi Hosts First-Ever Facebook Live Financial Therapy Session

September 14, 2016

This past Saturday, romance met finance as SoFi hosted the first-ever online financial therapy session on Facebook Live. The inaugural event called “For Love & Money” brought together financial wellness expert Amanda Clayman and one couple, Megan and Mina, who are both SoFi members. For 30 minutes, Megan and Mina openly discussed their financial challenges, their debt, how they organize their money as a couple, differences in their spending habits and more.

The live event builds on SoFi’s larger initiative to remove money as the “last taboo”. Millennials are comfortable taking about sex, politics and religion, but money remains a sensitive and at times untouchable topic. “For Love & Money” is another way that SoFi is trying to create public comfortability around the topic and, with help from 360i, broaden the conversation on social.

During the episode, Megan and Mina broached such difficult topics as merging their debts, planning for a baby and establishing shared financial goals. To date, the episode has had over 88K views.  You can watch the full episode here.

Stay tuned for more from SoFi and 360i.
