360i client Toyota is giving fans a rare glimpse “under the hood” of its world-renowned production process with a new campaign that connects the growing “how it’s made” conversation with one of the most beloved interests in the world – music.
Toyota is inviting fans to remix the sights and sounds of Toyota’s manufacturing plants in Kentucky and Mississippi into their own unique symphony of GIFs – a “Gifony” – at www.Gifony.com.
The site features a series of 45 vibrant GIFs each capturing a stage of the manufacturing process. Building on the idea that at Toyota, people and process work together in perfect harmony to create something beautiful, we worked with sound engineers at Search Party to remix the audio for each step, including welding, steel stamping, engine starting, etc. Users can download an MP3 of their Gifony remix and share it via their social channels, including Facebook, Twitter and Soundcloud.
For the launch of the campaign we created a short video to excite fans, and to help spread the word about Gifony, we partnered with Launchpad DJ SoNevable to produce an original Gifony music video being featured on the SoNevable YouTube page and promoted across his social channels. Toyota will also be promoting Gifony using an interactive DJ booth at live events.
